Pro Fide

Although the years change and the lineup changes with them, Pro Fide continues on, because the message of the songs remains unchanged. Already in the 1980s, on one tour, the musicians were gazing at the starry sky, wondering what if Jesus were to suddenly return. The keyboardist Juha Kela commented to his bandmates: “Yes — but the band will not stop!”

That same passion and musical talent have united the band’s musicians and technicians since as early as 1966, and over the years the group has included around fifty people.

The band combines modern pop-rock with roots that reach back decades in a way that lacks neither depth, joy, nor energy. Although the band’s members have changed many times, Pro Fide’s songs still draw from hope. At the core of that hope remains the phrase familiar from the band’s legendary logo: “Jesus is Lord.”

The current lineup consists of:

  • Ossi Mäki-Reini – vocals & guitar
  • Jesse de Jong – guitar
  • Lauri Heimonen – bass
  • Tuomo Komonen – keyboards
  • Taneli Hietala – drums

At Glow Festival 2026, Pro Fide will celebrate its 60-year journey. In addition to the current members, the anniversary lineup will also feature the band’s longest-serving lead singer, Heikki Kärhä, under whose leadership the band released its best-selling album Live (1997).
