Artists sing their songs, but few leave a mark like Jukka Leppilampi. Often referred to as the “Leonard Cohen of Finnish gospel,” Leppilampi is an inimitable artist. After his time with the band Tabula Rasa, Leppilampi’s journey in spiritual music was set in motion through the Jarmo ja Jukka duo, through which he has captured timeless reflections across as many as six decades.
In the 1980s, Jukka performed together with Outi Terho and recorded one of the classics of Finnish gospel music, “Minun käteni soi” (1986). The solo album Nyansseja (1989), which closed out the decade, was a powerful work that deeply moved many listeners. His most recent album, “Tämä huone, tämä hetki” (2016), was created together with the Marzi Nyman Trio.
The artist’s message still carries forward: the Kingdom of God is coming.
At Glow Festival, Leppilampi will be seen in the Glow Living Room concert together with Pekka Ruuska and Jari Levy.
